THE Ouyen Livestock Exchange, Vic, had a much larger consignment of new-season lambs on offer on Thursday last week, selling to strong competition.

There were 13,620 suckers sold to a dearer trend, with tops reaching $174 for export weights and $165 for trades.
Looking at older lambs, there were 4428 sold to $165 and 2578 mutton sold to strong demand, with prices increasing by $5-$10.
Export crossbred sucker lambs made $148-$174 or $5.70 a kilogram to $6/kg and trades $106-$165 or $6-$6.20/kg. Light mutton made $64-$100 or $4-$4.20/kg and heavies $89-$124 or $3.80-$4/kg.
DM Prizabilla, Lameroo, topped the market with 31 crossbred sucker lambs at $174, and DJ Kay, Ouyen, had 74 at the same price.
P&M Carling, Parrakie, sold 140 sucker lambs at $164, while S Gregor, Parilla, sold 61 at $158.
The next scheduled sale is Thursday, September 15.
