THE heavens opened on the second-to-last Murray Bridge prime lamb sale for the year, with prices remaining solid.

Elders’ Phil Nagel said heavy lambs were slightly back, in line with reduced hook prices, while store lambs were firm. Landmark’s Kevin Keller said the sale went well, with buyers from a wide spread of areas.
Topping the market was AWP MacAllan, Red Creek, with 12 crossbred lambs at $138 knocked down to Meat Barn. PJ&MI Royal, Sanderston, sold 107 lambs at $136 to Thomas Foods International, RM&TE Hein, Burdett, sold 156 at $124 to Herd Meat Wholesalers, Geelong, Vic, and Ray Bald, Etrrick, sold 111 at $122 to TFI.
Topping the sucker lambs was AW Horstmann, Milendella, with 61 at $122 that went to Australian Lamb Co.
The final Murray Bridge sale will be on Monday, September 26, at 1pm.
