THE Minnipa Agricultural Centre will host a sandy soils workshop on Wednesday July 27.

Dr Stephen Davies will be one of the speakers and will discuss amelioration of constrained sandplain soils and also improving furrow sowing and developing management strategies.
Other speakers including Dr Rick Llewellyn, on seven lessons learnt from research on Mallee sands, and Chris McDonough, on Mallee spading trials.
Brett Masters is another speaker, talking abound defining the issues with sandy soils, and David Davenport, who will look at the New Horizons project results, and where farmers can go from here with them.
Farmers will also share their experiences with sandy soils including Ben Pope, Warramboo, who will discuss inversion ploughing, and Hayden Whitwell, Kimba, who will talk about spading.
The event starts at 1pm.
