THE OUYEN, Vic, Livestock Exchange had a similar sized yarding to their last sale, with 5383 lambs and 2102 mutton.

There was stronger demand with prices for lamb firm to $10 dearer and mutton was up $5-$10.
Export crossbred lambs made $140-$178 or $4.80-$5.10/kg, trade types $114-$140 or $5.30-$5.60/kg and stores $72-$118 or $5.20-$5.60/kg.

Light Merino lambs made $59.60-$110 or $4.60-$5.00/kg and heavies $118-$132.60 or $4.90-$5/kg.
Looking at mutton, light types made $56-$97.60 or $3-$3.90/kg and heavies $84-$120 or $3-$3.50/kg.
Topping the crossbred section were Andersons of Bronzewing, Bronzewing, Vic with 144 at $178 and Munro Bros, Ouyen, with 45.
SA vendor D Dutschke, Karoonda, also sold near the top of the market with 60 at $174. The same vendor also sold 103 Merino lambs at $131.60 and 203 at $124.
Selling crossbred lambs were N&F Hamilton, Ouyen – 44 at $174, Storer Grant, Anuello, Vic – 80 at $140 and Hall Farms, Mittyack, Vic – 29 at $124.
Also selling crossbred lambs were Hahnel Nominees, Timberoo, Vic – 51 at $166 and 82 at $161.80.
N&R Monaghan, Speed, Vic, sold 69 crossbred lambs at $165, and Monaghan Unit Trust, Tempy, Vic, sold 20 at $164.20.
Balaclava Station, Broken Hill, NSW, sold a number of lines of mutton including 36 at $105, 119 at $98 and 194 at $87.
Also selling mutton were R&B Edwards, Broken Hill, with 66 at $100 and M Pohlner, Kiamal, Vic, sold 191 at $120.
SA seller G Beelitz, Parrakie, sold 71 mutton at $120.
Selling Dorper lambs were S&H Grant, Kulwin, Vic, with 47 at $124.
Merino lambs were sold by J Gniel, Nunga, Vic – 92 at $132.60 and C&G Young, Patchewollock, Vic – 35 at $132 .
