FORWARD-THINKING potato producers are able to apply for the 2016 Rabobank Potatoes SA and Ruralco Industry Award to look at improvements to themselves, their business or the industry.

The award is open to potato growers in SA who are the key decision maker in the business.
The scholarship includes a place on the Rabobank executive development program.
Potatoes SA chief executive officer Robbie Davis said the award, and the sponsoring partnership, shows commitment to the future leaders of agriculture.
“We can be confident that the industry will be in a sound place for sustainable growth and productivity,” she said.
Ruralco representative Peter Cook said Ruralco were excited to be involved in the award, and saw it as a unique opportunity to enhance the business skills of future leaders in the potato industry.
“The award will not only have positive ramifications for the scholarship winner from a business perspective, but it will also provide a boost for the overall sector, in terms of overall productivity and growth,” he said.
Applications are open until May 9, with the winner to be announced on June 3.
