THERE was very strong demand on a small, high quality yarding of cattle at the Mount Pleasant market on Thursday last week.

There were 100 head of cattle yarded and 1000 sheep and lambs.
Landmark auctioneer Colin Fawcett quoted the lambs as fully firm on recent sales.
“There was very good demand on the cattle and it was a high quality yarding,” he said.
CM Bond, Mannum, topped the cattle market with six Hereford-Red Poll milk vealers at $1420, selling to Princess Royal. The same vendor also sold a Hereford-Red Poll heifer at $1360 to Thomas Foods International, along with a further two heifers at $1150 and $1120. Making the top price for cows was SJ Lewis, Charleston, with a Red Poll at $1220 that sold to TFI.
Topping the crossbred lamb section was CJ Kerber, Cockatoo Valley, with a line of 13 making $136 to Australian Lamb Company.
Making the second-highest price for crossbreds was MPC&SJ Brown, Keyneton, with 32 at $135.
Hoggets made to $94 for four from O Jaensch, Hartley, ewes sold to $90 for 24 from PV&PA Boucher, Springton, and store lambs made to $96 for 45 from Falkenberg Family Trust, Cambrai.
