About 30 teams, each comprising three store lambs, have been nominated for the event, which is also a fundraiser for the small Mid North community. The maximum number the competition can accommodate in the first year is 80 teams.
Teams have been received from the Fleurieu Peninsula, Mid and Lower North to Eyre Peninsula.
The prize pool has also grown significantly with new sponsor Atlex Stockyards offering an adjustable draft with some lead-in gates and an on-farm site plan for a future yard upgrade. The store lambs entered will be fed in the Saltbush Ag feedlot for eight weeks from February 25 before being processed at TFI in April.
