MOUNT Pleasant's monthly market continued firing on all cylinders yesterday.
The supply was still there, with the best crossbred lambs in a quality yarding of about 1300 making to $170 and most hovering around the $130 to $140 mark.
Hoggets were the highlight, with the best of these making $152 to Thomas Foods International, up $37 on the best of the March market.
Young joined ewes made to $130, and a few very healthy looking older ewes made $150.
In the cattle, six Poll Hereford cows with black calves at foot made $1220 to Prostock.
Meanwhile, a single large Poll Hereford cow made $1110, another made $970, and a sizable, quality Angus cow made $940.
This was well up on the top of $740 for cows at the March market.
A couple of older bulls in forward condition drew good interest, with the Murray Grey making $1380 and the Poll Hereford $1320.
Steers and heifers were hot, hot, hot.
The best steers made to $900, with a number more making close to it.
The best heavy heifer made $860, and a number more made over $700.
