"We were pretty lucky there hasn't been any damage, the rain has just held harvest up," he said.

Mr Leinert - who reported 23 millimetres of rain after last week's storm fronts - said they were harvesting barley when the rain hit.

The barley was mainly making feed 3 grade, and they moved on to wheat this week.

"We have had some high screenings because of the lack of rain in autumn," he said.

"We would normally reap about 5 tonnes a hectare, but because of the below average season, our wheat will be down 20 per cent to 30pc, depending on soil types."

Mr Lienert crops 730ha of barley, wheat and beans.

"The beans aren't looking too bad, hopefully we can still make up to 2t/ha."
