The vegetable garden, located off Hackney Road in Adelaide, opened in April as part of a four-year project.
Public programs manager Carrie Moss said the garden was a way to get kids to start thinking about their food at an early age.
“It helps make connections with healthy eating,” she said.
Ms Moss said the garden program included 90-minute education sessions, where kids could look for bugs, learn about healthy soils and help with planting.
She said the horticultural curator planned plantings to try and ensure there was something ready to pick at most times of the year.
