CURMONA Station manager Jeff Pumpa (pictured above) says it is a great time to be in the livestock game, with prices buoying confidence. Mr Pumpa runs about 5000 sheep and 1000 head of Hereford cattle at the Yunta property. “At Yelta this year we received $150 for our young ewes, which is the best money for sheep we’ve ever had,” he said. “To also be getting $2.50/kg for cattle, which is very good money, makes it all worthwhile.”
