BOOLEROO Centre farmer Robert Koch won grand champion fleece at the 19th annual Port Augusta Wool Show on Friday. The wool show is a major social event for pastoralists as it ties in with the School of the Air’s annual get-together. The 82 fleeces were judged by Landmark SA wool manager Adrian Dewell and Elders district wool manager Charlie Rowe. “The fleeces were very well-presented, white and bright, with a lot of character,” Mr Dewell said. The wool show is also a major fundraiser for School of the Air. The fleeces will be auctioned off in January, with an estimated value of $3500. White’s Wires stock posts were also donated and sold, with $1050 raised.
