A CHANCE encounter on the way to work resulted in a pen of alpacas at the Mount Pleasant market finding new homes in the Barossa region.

Work mates Sarah Seidel, Sedan, and Brie Harvey, Tanunda, were on their way to work when they saw a trailer full of sheep and alpacas.
“So we followed it,” Sarah said. “I wanted a female to run with my two wethers.”
Sarah bought a female and its Macho cria at $40 each, while Brie bought four females in wool at $75 to run with her two wethers at Tanunda.

Sarah runs about 20 sheep at Sedan, while Brie has alpacas at her parents property at Tanunda. Both are run with Merinos.
Another three were sold at the sale for $40.
