METROPOLITAN firefighters will be out in force across the Riverland and Adelaide tomorrow, collecting funds for the Pinery Fire Appeal.

The Australian Professional Firefighters will hold an impromptu ‘shake the boot’ fundraising event, wearing distinctive clothing and shaking firefighting boots to encourage people to donate.
About 50 MFS firefighters will be hitting the streets and shopping centres in Loxton, Berri, Renmark, Gawler and Adelaide on the day.
“Many of our Foundation members were on strike teams at the Pinery fires last week and saw the immense devastation first hand,” APFF president Greg Howard said.
“The community will take a long time to recover from this and they need our help. After Black Saturday our foundation conducted a fire appeal and the public response from South Australians was overwhelming.”
“The assistance from the Metropolitan Fire Service, Rundle Mall Authority, the Adelaide City Council, as well as many supermarket centre management, that have allowed us to host our appeal at such short notice has been incredible.”
All money raised will be donated to the State Emergency Relief Fund.
The collectors will be at the following locations:
- Berri
- Renmark
- Loxton
- Gawler from 5pm
- Rundle Mall 8.30am-10.30am and 11.30am-2.30pm
- City locations 8.30am-10.30am and 11.30am-2.30pm
- Westfield Marion 11am -2pm
- Westfield West Lakes 11am-2pm
- Munno Para Shopping Centre 11am-2pm
- Harbour Town 11am-2pm
