The Regional Australia Institute hosted the SA component of its national event series, Regions Rising, at Lobethal on Tuesday.
The event brought together industry experts, economists, regional leaders, academics, government officials and the community to discuss regional SA.
The event was held at Golding Wines and focussed on the transition to net zero, jobs and housing.
RAI CEO Liz Ritchie launched two new research reports, Towards Net Zero: Transition Pathways in Regional Australia, and Towards Net Zero: Decarbonising Pivotal Industries in Regional Australia.
The reports were the first of four that will be released in 2024 focusing on regional Australia's transition to net zero over the coming decades.
Ms Ritchie said to date, much of the research relating to the future low-carbon economy has focused on fossil-fuel producing regions with little information available for small or single industry communities.
Stock Journal's VANESSA BINKS attended the event to capture some of the action.
