Food waste habits and ag career pathways were on the agenda at the Ag Institute Australia - SA Division meeting.
Held at the Ed Hotel, Mitcham, on Tuesday night, the crowd got the chance to hear the latest research and plans from End Food Waste Australia chief executive officer Steven Lapidge, including the ambitious goal set by the government to halve food waste by 2030.
Two of the End Food Waste Australia PhD candidates were also on hand, Trang Thi Thu Nguyen and Jack Hetherington, to speak about their pathways into the industry and what their projects.
These included a look into the circular economy of dairy companies and the use of green waste bins within SA.
The night also served as the launch for the 2024 Student Compendium - the fourth edition of this resource, which is produced as a collaboration between the AIA and the Adelaide University Agricultural Students Association.
