Mundulla Show again showed why it is regarded as one of SA’s best country shows, with strong entries and a top day of entertainment.
This year’s theme was ‘Up, Up and Away’ with the program including weather balloon launches on the oval and a hot air balloon display.
Three show stalwarts, Geoff Clarke, Brian Wiese and Graham Excell, were bestowed life membership of the organisation.
The Fiebig family, Hilton Heath, Keith, claimed the championship double in the sheep judging with their strong wool entries.
The ram and ewe will be Hilton Heath’s pair for Elders SA Stud Merino Expo in Burra, later this month.
The beef cattle section was hotly contested with the supreme champion bull – a 28 month-old Red Angus owned by Angus Llewellyn, Jillangus stud, Willalooka.
A Charolais heifer from the Fogden family’s Boulview stud, Loxton, was the supreme champion female.
The show and Moot Yang Gunya Festival were opened by former ABC Rural national manager Leigh Radford, who was also a co-judge in the Chocolate Sponge Roll Challenge.
