AUSSIE Farmers Foundation has awarded grants worth more than $70,000 to four amazing projects as part of the Grassroots grant program.
Rural Business Support in SA is one lucky recipient, and will use the money to run farm business workshops for 28 families across the Eyre Peninsula and the South East to help ensure succession planning and sound business management systems are in place.
The New Approach to Family Farm Management project will deliver three half-day sessions with a farm business advisor to 14 families on the EP and 14 families in the SE.
Non-profit organisations Life Education, NSW, Rural and Regional Mental Health, WA, and Barrier Breakers, Vic, also received grants.
Aussie Farmers Foundation executive officer Julia Hunter said the Grassroots grants foundation aimed to make a meaningful difference to Australian farmers and their communities by funding grassroots projects that provide them with much-needed services during times of hardship.
“We partner with local organisations who are already working on the ground and are the experts in helping to address some of the issues that impact their communities,” she said.
