GRAINCORP LIQUID FEEDS is the first approved feed manufacturer to join the Pasturefed Cattle Assurance System (PCAS) approved supplements scheme.
Feed manufacturers are now able to supply PCAS-approved feed and forage products to producers.
Cattle Council of Australia president Howard Smith said it was great to see the approved supplement scheme growing, to make things more transparent for PCAS producers.
“The PCAS Approved scheme was developed to make it clear for all producers what feed and forage products are eligible for use under PCAS,” Mr Smith said.
“GLF is the first feed manufacturer to be approved under the new system and it’s a sign of great things to come as PCAS continues to grow.
“The Molafos and Rumifeed range of supplements available to producers from GLF are PCAS-approved and suitable for grassfed production systems.”
Jeremy Melloy, the National Business Manager for Liquid Feeds said GLF was supportive of PCAS and the supplements scheme.
“GLF strongly supports the Cattle Council initiative to provide producers with quality assurance programs such as PCAS, to ensure a sustainable future for the Australian beef industry,” Mr Melloy said.
“GLF are committed to providing cattle producers with supplement feeding solutions tailored to their needs, while complying with the PCAS specifications.”
GLF nutritionist Steve Blake explained the Molafos and Rumifeed liquid supplements are designed to promote increased live weight gain, reproductive efficiency and pasture utilisation.
“Molafos is entirely based on molasses to provide a high-energy substrate and a balanced supply of protein and minerals, which are required to optimise livestock performance to assist with meeting the PCAS specifications, as pasture quality changes with prevailing seasonal conditions.”
