BIDDERS were out in force at the final Strathalbyn store cattle sale for the year, with steers making to $4.89 a kilogram.
Buying support came from Thomas Foods International, Princess Royal, as well as local, Riverland and South East bidders.
The top price per kilogram pen came from Kangaroo Island, with 12 Angus/Murray Grey steers from RW Young.
The steers weighed 196kg, and made $960, equating to $4.89/kg.
The top price a head was for KI steers from RB&LM Couchman, with 21 Angus steers weighing 346kg, Lancaster and Stoney Point-blood, that made $1420 or $4.10.kg, selling to Princess Royal.
Kicking off the sale was I&AD Kittel, Strathalbyn, selling 15 Angus steers, Glenfern-bld, to TFI for $1385 or $3.87/kg.
The same vendor also sold eight steers, 305kg, for $1225 or $4.01/kg.
Fleurieu Angus, Parawa, sold 19 Angus steers, 362kg, for $1390 or $3.83/kg to Princess Royal.
Heifers made to $1290 for six from the Grady Family, Macclesfield, weighing 328kg.
