PRICES were up across the board at the Mount Pleasant market on Thursday.
The inclement weather the day before the sale meant some stock was pulled out, with numbers ending up at 180 for cattle and 1200 for sheep.
Landmark Anderson & Fawcett's Colin Fawcett said the sale was strong and followed other market trends.
Crossbred lambs sold to $135, for a line of 23 from Malcolm Creek Wines, Kersbrook, which sold to Thomas Foods International. The same vendor also sold 24 crossbred lambs at $121 to Austral.
JS&MA Teusner, Eden Valley, sold 18 crossbred lambs at $129 to Meat Barn, while P Menzel, One Tree Hill, sold 18 at $126 to JBS.
LJ&LJ Rowley, Myponga, sold 44 crossbred lambs at $124 to Austral, while G&C Iuliano, Penfield, sold 15 at $119 to JBS.
Hoggets made to $89, for a pen of six from Belmont Props, Springton and a pen of 27 from RL Scott, Cudlee Creek.
Rams made between $50 to $94.
Ewes made to $65, for a pen of 17 from DW Taylor, Nairne.
Other major sheep buyers included the Australian Lamb Company and Kangarilla Meats.
The cattle job remained strong, and Mr Fawcett said the prices paid reflected the excellent quality of the yarding.
Cows with calves at foot made to $1460, for a pen of six Angus/Herefords, mated to a Stoney Point bull, from S Owens, Eden Valley.
An Angus cow with CAF made $1320 for D&M Vivian, Ponde, and sold to Kangarilla Meats.
Cows made to $1440, with the highest price going to an Angus cow from S Jackson, Mount Torrens, and selling to TFI.
Another Angus cow made $1400 for Tinline Park, Mount Torrens, and sold to Princess Royal.
High Eden, Eden Valley, sold a Murray Grey cow for $1380 to Princess Royal.
Steers made to $1840 for an Angus from KR&ML Thiele, Pompoota, and sold to Princess Royal.
Another Angus steer made $1440 for Rosebank Pty Ltd, Mount Pleasant, and sold to TFI.
SR&JL Jackson, Mount Torrens, sold 11 Angus steers for $1420 to Princess Royal. The same vendor also sold seven Poll Hereford steers for $1340 to Princess Royal.
Heifers made to $1150 for a Limousin-cross from N Zimmerman, Sedan, and sold to Meat Barn. The same vendor also sold another Limousin-cross for $1100 to Austral, and another for $1070.
Bulls topped at $2220, for an Angus from WB&SJ Hurn, Angaston, and selling to Princess Royal.
Another Angus bull from MC,AD&CM Steinert, Eden Valley, sold for $2200 to Princess Royal.
Topping the vealer steer section was KR&ML Thiele with a Murray Grey that made $1230 and sold to Austral. The same vendor also sold another Murray Grey vealer steer for $1100, also to Austral.
The highest price for vealer heifers was $1090 for a nine-month-old from JI&FA Henschke, Mount Pleasant, and selling to Austral.
Other cattle buyers included Kangarilla Meats and local graziers.
The next Mount Pleasant market will be an off-shears on November 11 and a normal sale on November 19.
