SA Livestock Exchange calf sale - Mar 30
A MUCH smaller yarding of better quality, local and pastoral bred calves sold to stronger competition from agents, feeders and restockers.
The calves offered were generally better bred and this, combined with a fall in numbers ensured that prices lifted.
Agents from Balaklava and Crystal Brook provided the bulk of competition and prices lifted across all categories by $20 to $30 a head.
Beltana Station Pty Ltd, Beltana, sold 19 lightweight, Angus steers to $325, averaging $291.84 and 17 heifers to $285, to average $232.65.
