SA Livestock Exchange Calf Report - October 23
A SMALLER yarding of mixed-quality and weight calves sold to stronger competition provided by a large gallery of agents, feeder and restocker buyers.
Trade buyers were well catered for with some prime vealers offered. SW Williams & Co, Streaky Bay, sold mediumweight Poll Hereford calves. Five steers sold to $490, averaging $442, four heifers sold to $405 to average $347.50, and three bulls averaged $368.33.
Fewer pastoral bred calves were yarded.
G&C Pastoral Pty Ltd, ex-Loves Creek, sold 42 crossbred heifers to restockers to $275, to average $200.95.
Quotations: Bobbies $15-$120, light $120-$400, medium $400-$500, heavy $500-$705.
