THE top lambs were up by $22 on the previous sale at last week's Mount Pleasant monthly market.
Headline regulars Tim and Kelly Brown, Keyneton, sold their top 30 at $180, and their seconds at $161 - still above their $158 market toppers at the February sale.
Meanwhile, Mr Brown's parents Mark and Susanna Brown, Keyneton - who also played bridesmaid in February - sold the sale's second-top run of 42 lambs at $170, their seconds making $150.
The March sale yarded 1619 sheep and lambs and 131 cattle.
Landmark Anderson & Fawcett's David Schultz said lambs remained firm on the previous market, but mutton sheep were about $15-$20 dearer.
"Quality was quite good right through the sheep and cattle -- even the store lambs had a bit on them," he said.
Other solid lamb sales included Roger Lillecrapp, Keyneton, 26 lambs at $162.
Regari Pty Ltd, Menglers Hill, sold 111 at $154 and MR,GD&KH Rathjen, Springton, sold 18 at $152.
Mainly hogget wethers sold to $115 for 31 which escaped the Eden Valley fire and were sold by Bundilla Pastoral, Cambrai, and Iluka Estate, Balhannah, sold 74 at $95.
Ewes made to $85 for 21 from A Schwerdtfegger, Mount Pleasant, and Tim Starkey, Cambrai, sold 11 at $84.
Into the cattle, Mr Schultz said younger cattle were up to $50 dearer than the previous sale, cows remained similar, and store cattle were firm.
AB&GA Loffler, Mannum, sold three grainfed steers at $860, $850 and $820, and GD&VA Cawrse, Freeling, sold one grainfed steer at $800.
McCarthy Props, Mount Crawford, sold 11 Angus steers at $660.
Heifers sold to $770 for a sole lot offered by GD&VA Cawrse, and DG&DG Noblet, Birdwood, sold six Murray Grey and Angus vealer heifers at $600.
