THE Equestrian Grand Final, which will showcase the nation’s best riders, will take place in Adelaide for the first time this year.
Tourism Minister Leon Bignell launched the Equestrian Grand Final along with two-time South Australian Olympic equestrian champion Gillian Rolton and Olympic silver medallist Megan Jones.
The Grand Final will be held in conjunction with the Adelaide International Three Day Event, in Victoria Park and Rymill Park, this November.
"The Equestrian Grand Final will attract Olympic athletes to our city and will also help lift the profile of the Adelaide International Three Day Event," Mr Bignell said.
"It will showcase the best of the best with about 50 of the nation’s top competitors in dressage, jumping and exhibition eventing."
Mr Bignell said the event is expected to bring 2000 visitors from interstate and overseas to SA - generating more than $1 million for the state’s economy.
"There is no other place in the world where you can see world class equestrian in the centre of the city every year," Mr Bignell said.
Access to for the Equestrian Grand Final is included in the ticket cost for the Australian International Three Day Event, from November 19–22.
