A STRONG crowd flocked to Wudinna on Monday as 19 Merino and Poll Merino stud breeders showcased rams ahead of the selling season.
Attendees were treated to a beautiful winter's day and a selection of high-quality rams from 17 Eyre Peninsula studs and two South East studs at the annual Eyre Peninsula Merino Pre-Sale Expo.
Eyre Peninsula Stud Merino Breeders Association president Wes Daniell said the day went off without a hitch and it was pleasing to see a large, engaged crowd in attendance.
"It has been another really good turnout," he said.
"It is always really well-supported. We have leading Eyre Peninsula studs and two from the South East which are part of the fold.
"I think the ram-selling season will be similar to last year. Wool's alright, meat and lamb prices are good, and the season's looking good across most parts of the EP so the prospects are about as good as you'd hope to get."
