A REMINDER of how Texel sheep breeder Troy Julyan got his start is etched in the young Manoora man's stud prefix.
The first half of the name Dlorrah Park is Harrold backwards - his grandparents' family name.
Mr Julyan's grandparents' farm was where he spent much of his childhood.
Helping out and spending so much time on the farm sparked his love of agriculture and a passion for sheep, which was strengthened when his grandparents gifted him his first small flock.
"Dlorrah Park is Harrold backwards, which was grandpa's last name," he said.
"That's where my love of sheep started from. After school and any spare time I'd get I'd be there (at his grandparents farm)."
In the years since, Mr Julyan moved into owning crossbreds and settled on Texels as his breed of choice when he decided to venture down the stud breeding path.
His flock was founded with the purchase of some purebred ewes from stud breeders Mertex, Tullamore Park and Illawong and the present herd is comprised of 30 ewes - three main sires and seven ram lambs, which Troy bred.

"I like the muscling (of Texels) and they taste good," Mr Julyan said.
"I think the muscling and meat quality is among the best when it comes to sheep.
"I think when sheep producers start to get paid for quality of meat, not quantity, the breed might turn a few heads.
"Other breeds are fast-growing, but may not have the eating qualities of something that's slower growing."

Mr Julyan has recently made two big investments in his stud by buying a Melbourne champion ram from Tullamore Park and another quality sire from Illawong.
He also plans to carry out artificial insemination from semen bought recently.
But next on the agenda, is a long-held goal to show sheep at the Bendigo Sheep & Wool Show in July.
"After showing at Bendigo, I'd like to start breeding and selling more rams," Mr Julyan said.
"Building the flock up a bit more and offering a bigger selection."
