Future leaders in the beef industry from across Australia - and across the Tasman - were in Adelaide this week to take their goals for the sector and their careers to the next level at GenAngus.
Organised by Angus Australia and Achmea Australia, the GenAngus Future Leaders program is in its fourth year - the second in person - and selects a small group of passionate cattle breeders associated with the Angus breed.
This year, nine young leaders were included in the program, alongside three from New Zealand, and took part in an intensive three-day course, with the chance to learn from a number of industry professionals.
The 2022 cohort include Alex Gandy, Diamond Tree, WA; Ben Lucas, Book Book, NSW; Bridget Watson, Coonalpyn; Cara Fagan, Coonamble, NSW; Emily Read Coonabarabran, NSW; Jack Laurie, Moppy, NSW: Damon Englund, Upper Stowport, Tas; Jarrod Koch, Barrabool, Vic, and Peter Colliver, Meningie; as well as New Zealand entrants Nancy Crawshaw, George Giddings and George Philip.
Past participants, from the 2020 and 2021 cohort, also had the chance to come together after their program was conducted virtually.
Ahead of the course, those involved in the course, as well as industry representatives, met for a dinner that included some insight from previous participants.
