EARLIER this year, on a holiday sojourn across the Eyre Peninsula, it was unbelievable to see the amount of caravans and campers on the road, many from interstate.
Every caravan park we visited, managers forewarned that the whole of the EP was booked out and had been for awhile, which was awesome to hear (it wasn't even school holidays), and only mildly frustrating when we had to move on to somewhere else.
The tourism industry and regional communities took such a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, so it's been good to see reports of regional accommodation occupancy rates in SA reaching all-time highs in March and continuing across the Easter break.

We spent our Easter on the Yorke Peninsula, where it too was full of holiday-makers and has been since international borders were closed.
Social media commentary had many commenting about the magical places on offer within our great state, and the plans to make return trips to places visited during the pandemic.
