A run of workshops will be held in the Mallee and on the Eyre Peninsula in June, to help offer targeted advice for livestock producers.
After the success of last year's Better Health for Better Wealth workshops, the event will head to Cummins and Lameroo.
These workshops will focus on livestock health issues that matter to the region.
A Livestock SA's spokesperson said animal health was one of the key drivers for a profitable livestock enterprise, but some health conditions could fly under the radar.
To help producers get a better understanding of what sheep and cattle health conditions are prevalent within their region, the SA Livestock Biosecurity Extension Project Team, Livestock SA and Animal Health Australia, will lead the workshops.
Speakers will include Greg Sezun who will discuss sheep traceability- NLIS database and buying sheep from interstate and footrot, while a PIRSA researcher will present best practice management for sheep and an OJD update.
The Better Health for Better Wealth workshops are funded by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions' Red Meat and Wool Growth Program and are designed to focus specifically on the health conditions that affect livestock enterprises in each region.
The South Australian Livestock Biosecurity Extension Project has been made possible by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions' Red Meat and Wool Growth Program and Livestock SA.
To register, visit the Livestock SA website.
The events will be held at Cummins on Thursday, June 16 and Lameroo, Tuesday, June 21.
