While April is generally considered to be a big month for cattle offered, there had been some supposition that this year might be different.
Already, great quantities of cattle have been through the yards this year - some earlier than usual - chasing the impressive prices offered on cattle.
However, agents say that yardings have still been going strong, with some saleyards recording peak numbers.
ProStock's Clint Endersby thinks it will "catch up" eventually and yardings will reduce in the coming month.
There have also been indications the strong northern interest in southern young cattle might be reducing, while the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator has reached its lowest point in six months - although is still at a healthy price.
