Celebrating their 50th year, the Isolated Childrens and Parents Association met on Friday to hold the annual state meeting hosted by the Port Augusta branch, where it all began 50 years ago.
The conference themed 'looking back, looking forward', hosted reports from the branches and guest speakers whilst throughout the day 23 motions were laid out, of which all were carried with most attendees adding emotional pleas and comments.

The themes across the day included rural schools and travel, boarding schools, early childhood education and care, specific education and needs, tertiary education and career pathways, and distance education - all for improving the lives of isolated children.
At the end of the conference the SA ICPA held their annual general meeting where an election for the new members was held.
Belinda Hatcher was announced the new SA State President taking rein from Jill Greenfield after three years of service in the seat.
