Lamb numbers were up but the mutton offering was significantly down on the previous market at the Ouyen, Vic, sheep market yesterday.
All up, there were 5798 lambs and 182 mutton for a yarding of 5980.
Heavy lambs trended $5 to $10 cheaper; trade lambs were firm to $5 cheaper while shorter skinned lambs sold to better competition.
In the crossbred lamb offering, those suitable for export made $185 to $225 or $6.80 a kilogram to $7.20/kg, while trade lambs were $140-$196 or $7-$7.60/kg.
Lighter Merino lambs made $124-$160, with the heavier pens $170-$213 or $6.60-$6.80/kg.
The best of the crossbred lambs was $225 for 160 from MUT, Tempy, Vic, while MJ Longergan & JL Nulty, Ouyen, sold 41 at $222.
A Beelitz F/T, Parrakie, sold 49 at $218, while Munro Bros, Ouyen, had 21 made $217.
Clarke Bros, Ouyen, received $216 for 114 lambs, with P&C Mole, Speed, Vic, making the same money on a pen of 36.
