In the past week we've had a new government sworn in.
While there had been some suggestions that Labor would return to power, I'm not sure anyone was quite expecting some traditionally very safe Liberal seats might be under threat.
There has also been another push towards Independents. There had been a indications Independents would play a big role in this election, and that has proved true, with at least four and potentially even six elected.
But waiting to see if this election result will bring the promised benefits to the health system aside, there is quite a bit to celebrate this week.
There is the return of the South East Field Days after a two-year unwanted break.
The SEFD were within days of happening when the news of cancellations came through in 2020. The return of the SEFD - and the positive event that it was - has been a real positive sign that we might be returning to something a bit more "normal".
There are also a number of activities happening across the state, with the Mount Pleasant Show drawing good numbers on Saturday, and more scheduled to occur this weekend.
It's a nice feeling to be able to start making plans again, with some degree of confidence they will happen. And it's also great to be able to get out and see people at these events.
