Crossbred lambs to $226
Merinos to $226
RETURNS at the Ouyen sheep market in Vic on Thursday last week, had slightly recovered with all sections finishing firm to about $10-$15 cheaper a head.
Overall, 2977 lambs and 892 mutton were yarded at Ouyen Livestock Exchange.
Export crossbred lambs sold from $190-$226 or $6.90 a kilogram to $7.30/kg; trade lambs were $152-$205 or $7-$7.70/kg, while lighter lambs made $36-$120.
Heavy Merinos made $206-$226 or $6.80-$7.20/kg, while lighter Merinos made $86-$186.
Light mutton was cheaper at $80-$140 or $5.10-$5.80/kg, while heavies made $135-$180 or $4.80-$5.70/kg.
G&R Vine, Ouyen, sold the $226 crossbred tops with 39 head, while G&P Burns, Tempy, sold 40 at $224.
Brady Farms, Nandaly, offered 42 lambs at $207 and T& M Grant, Manangatang, made $205 for 51 head. G&M Nicholl, Linga, had 29 at $205.
The top Merino lamb price was made by Wegner Bros, Karoonda, for their 57 at $226, while Nampoo Station, Lake Victoria, had 49 at $215.
Peter Vallance, Tempy, made $172 for 38 mutton and Millar Ag, Nandaly, had 30 at $170, while T&E Payne, Karoonda, sold 51 at $168.
Dorper lambs were also offered with Timber Creek Produce, Parrakie, selling 85 at $204 and MGN Gibbins, Galah, offering 23 and making $186. The next sale will be on Thursday, March 31.
