It has been a long wait for the South East community but the state's largest annual field days, the South East Field Days, made a triumphant return this week much to the relief of organisers and exhibitors.
Just days out from the 2020 event the field days committee and Lucindale Lions Club had to make the heartbreaking decision to call it off as COVID restrictions were imposed.
Last year the site lay idle too but this year it is a hive of activity for the 42nd event with everything from machinery and livestock to beds and bric a brac.
The organising committee was thrilled with the Day 1 crowd which they believe may have been close to 8000 people through the gates. They are hoping for an even bigger crowd tomorrow (Saturday) for the second and final day.
Exhibitors were excited to be in front of their customers and clients.
Kustom Kegs Wine Barrel Furniture owner and manager Steve Bain, Mount Gambier, said it was great to get back in front of customers at the field days.
"I have been coming here since the tractor pull," he said.
