This week's Flashback Friday takes a look back nearly 40 years in the Stock Journal archives to the months of January and February 1983, when the anniversary of Ash Wednesday was relived across the state, the beef field days were on, and the Compass Cup was hotly contested.
Other events included the Burra to Broken Hill barrow race, the Altus family reunion and the Cortina-Watervalley commercial weaner sale; livestock was being imported from everywhere, while of course the Gepps Cross markets and Adelaide wool stores were on.
