THE 40th year of the Hart Field-Site Group officially kicks off on Wednesday, March 9, when the annual Getting the Crop In seminar is on to help prepare for the upcoming graingrowing season.
A half-day program will be presented to farmers and industry representatives keen to hear about understanding soil carbon, the latest Hart trial results, grain marketing news and also some tips for managing the stresses of farming and life.
Guest speaker Glen Simpson will be there to throw open the gates of his farm at Keith and give an insight into his cropping operations, as well as his community involvement.
Along with running a successful contracting and farming operation, Mr Simpson managed to gather community support and pull off his 'pie-in-the-sky' idea to successfully bring jet boat racing and a Diesel and Dirt Derby to Keith.
Hart chairman Andre Sabeeney said Getting the Crop In continues to provide an excellent opportunity to prepare for the season ahead, ask questions direct to industry experts, share experiences with like-minded farmers and simply have a catch up.
"Around 20 years ago when Hart ran the first Getting the Crop In seminar, feedback was positive and while the event has continued to evolve, it is still well supported today as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of our group," he said.

"This year's event will be no exception providing the latest agronomic updates including some of the 2021 Hart trial results, and of course the most popular session of the day the unique perspective of a farmer and his experience both on farm and within his community.
"The Hart board is committed to holding our Getting the Crop In seminar at no cost to growers, and thanks to the support of new event sponsor Precision Agriculture, we are able to guarantee this for the next four years.
"Growers and the broader agricultural community can be confident this year's program will deliver plenty of take-home messages that will provide value to their business along with great networking opportunities all within a half day format."
The 2022 Getting the Crop In event begins with a light breakfast from 8am, seminar from 8.30am (including morning tea) and finishes at 12.30pm at The Influencers Church, Stradbrooke Road, Clare (northern end of the racecourse).
