CONCERNS have been raised about reduced stock availability leading into the peak cattle selling month of April.
Returns for cattle in the past 18 months have been booming, leading to a lot of southern stock already being sold.
The state's major selling centres have recorded some of the most erratic yardings, with numbers peaking considerably in some weeks, only to fall to dismal levels at the following market.
PPH&S agent Jason Mahney said it was "unknown how many cattle were left out there and whether or not they will come into the system".
"Most people took the early money," he said.
