MOUNT PLEASANT
Yarding: 900 sheep and lambs, 58 cattle
Crossbred lambs to $230
Steers to $2500
Yesterday's Mount Pleasant market maintained lamb prices, keeping them firm with the fortnight prior and is inline with other markets.
Nutrien Fawcett's Ashley Fawcett said the better lines of lambs made good money.
"We had some good well finished lambs with good competition on them from processors," he said.
"Small butchers and processors were providing good competition for killable lambs.
"(There was) still good demand for store lambs both through feedlotters and graziers and selling quite firm.
"Mutton was quite tough, well finished hoggets and good rounded ewes are still selling okay.
"But anything not carrying much cover is copping a bit of a hit obviously due to the processors ongoing situation with COVID."
The top-priced pen offered by AG&BA Loffler, Mannum, who fetched $230 for a pen of 15 crossbred lambs.
