Wool market continues stellar run, but Covid-19 continues to exacerbate shearer shortage

The continuing COVID outbreak is spreading heavily into the shearing sector with fleeces now coming in at lengths longer than ideal for combing.

The Australian wool market has continued to defy expectations this week with the AWEX Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) climbing 15 cents to close at 1407c per kilogram, albeit a larger national offering of 42,794 bales.
