Livestock sales started 2022 off strong, with some big numbers and impressive prices at the southern weaner sales.
The strong prices bought cattle in, and while there were some smaller crowd numbers, it did not impact on the bidding, with much of the action coming from interstate.
There were also concerns about what impact pandemic-impacted processors working on skeleton staff may have on the market, but restocker demand remained strong, particularly as more rain fell.
There have been plenty of cattle - and a few sheep - go through the yards in January.
