Rural Business Support have appointed Sue-Ellen Cordon as a new landowner information service officer.
Ms Gordon will complement the work of Brett Klau, who has held the role since mid-last year, with the pair aiming to provide easy-to-understand information to individuals and businesses affected by resources exploration and mining activities.
Growing up on a horticultural farm in Strathalbyn, which later moved into cereal lucerne, hay and olives, Ms Gordon's earliest childhood memories were formed by conversations with farmers in the paddock or at the kitchen table.
An environmentalist by heart, her family were one of the first 100 families who subscribed to Trees For Life, and put in considerable amounts of time revegetating land surrounding the Strathalbyn Angas Zinc Mine.

Later, as an environmental officer with Angas Zinc, Ms Gordon was part of the efforts to revegetate the remaining area, creating a love affair with both the land and mining.
Ms Gordon now has more than nine years of experience working in several mining-related roles, including community liaison, exploration, construction, and the environment, and has seen the mining process from all angles.
Her passion is to aid landowners and members of the resources industry in their navigation of the 'uncomfortable space of the unknown' through open, respectful conversations that benefit all those involved. involved.
