Ten professionals from diverse sectors such as livestock, agronomy, natural; disaster management, product sales and farm business management attended.

Breakout sessions were then held to discuss the case study scenarios and attendees were pleased with the workshops success.

AIA Chair Sarah Hunter and ethic committee chair Chris Russell over viewed the ethics program and the associated accreditation, and AIA - SA chair Craig Davis AIA SA vice chair Kimberly Pellosis.

By joining the AIA, and in becoming a Chartered Agricultural Professional, members and candidates agree to abide by the Code of Ethics.

AIA - SA chair Craig Davis said adherence to the code would be enforced and for chartered members, knowledge of the code will be tested by an examination.

"The purpose is to ensure that members adhere to the highest standards of professional conduct in the discharge of their duties.

"The Code underpins its professional standards and provides the foundation on which the AIA can provide and administer a professional accreditation program and the highest level of professional recognition, through the chartered scheme."

Mr Davis said it also demonstrated to industry stakeholders, including service users, regulators and the business community commitment to the industry in providing the highest quality of professional service.

Case studies during the workshop were on Product Distribution and Livestock Biosecurity, while participants also identified eight to 10 further issues that could be scoped and developed for future ethics masterclasses and professional development.
