LAMB prices had a boost at the Mount Pleasant market last week as the end of the year edges closer, with lambs fetching a $237 top price.
Hearnden farms, Keyneton, offered a larger run of lambs and made the top price for 26 lambs and the vendor offered a further 14 and made $218.
R Beaumont, Echunga, offered 10 that made $210 and Boman Park, offered just two lambs and made $198.
JR Rossini, Wistow, made $195 for a larger run of 26 lambs, while A Kavanagh, Echunga, made $194 for 12.
Ewes reached a top of $182 for a pen of five from Gabell & Harvey, Jervois, while WL Wilson, Belvidere, made the same money for 11 ewes.
Returns for wethers reached a top price of $162 for five from E M Olson, Geranium, and T A Frayne, Bletchley, made $150 for four.
A mention of hogget prices should be made, with prices nudging ewe returns after reaching a top of $182.
Jilaine Investments, Mount Torrens, made the top price with 12 hoggets and PM Giles, Murray Bridge, made $160 for 15.
In the cattle section, steers were once again in demand and reached a top of $2460 for a Poll Hereford cross from Brett Skipworth, Mount Pleasant, and another Angus cross from the same vendor made $2290.
G&M Wilson, Mount Pleasant, made $2060 for a Murray Grey heifer.
RA & GA Watson, Murray Bridge, made $2580 for an Angus cow and G&M Wilson made the same money for a Murray Grey.
