THIS has been a remarkable year at the state's saleyards.
While the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator has grown to unprecedented levels throughout 2021, the prices at Naracoorte, Strathalbyn, Mount Gambier and Mount Pleasant have been just as phenomenal.
It is not just the cattle prices worth remarking on, with saleyards and state records being broken and reset on numerous occasions, culminating in a momentous $408 for young Merino ewes at the Keith off-shears and $538 for first-cross ewes at Naracoorte.
There were also some new selling centres debuting this year, with sheep selling at Marrabel and Karoonda for the first time in some time.
The action pen-side has been captured by VANESSA BINKS, QUINTON McCALLUM, CLAIRE HARRIS, ALISHA FOGDEN, JACQUI BATEMAN, ELIZABETH ANDERSON and KIARA STACEY.
