THE national conversation about kangaroos - and the best way to manage them - is never ending.
Whether it's dealing with overpopulations during boom times or having to watch them die from lack of feed during drought, there is always the wish that there were better management options available.
A number of academics and researchers have said there needs to be a shift in the way they're managed, with the potential to have them be more like goats and become a valued asset to the farm.
But there has also been the call for them to be declared pests, which would remove some of the red tape in removing them.
Here in SA, a statewide coordinator has just been appointed to bring together a broad group of stakeholders and come up with a state-wide plan, including feedback from those in rural communities.
