LAMB prices remained consistent with past markets at Mount Pleasant on Thursday, after demand from processors and feedlotters strengthened prices for sheep and lambs.
Nutrien Fawcett Livestock's David Shultz said the lamb prices were on par with the sale two weeks ago.
"A good run of store lambs were present with very strong penning," he said.
"The lambs were fresh with very-good quality in them."
M Cammell, Mount Barker, made top-price for nine lambs at $268 paid by Mount Pleasant butcher.
The second-highest price for lambs was $222, after Mannaroo, Murray Bridge, sold 23 lambs across two separate pens, 10 went to Mount Pleasant butcher and 13 to Meatbarn Murray Bridge.
The market remaining strong with N&C Semmler, Flaxman Valley, making $214 for 20 and G&P Noblet, Magill, making $210 for 32 lambs.
C O'Toole, Rockleigh, made $204 for one lamb, while V Cook, Mount Pleasant, also made $204 for five.
In the Hoggets, Broad Family Trust, Angaston, topped the section with 44 at $198, followed by two pens of four, both offered by MC&RL Willis, Brinkley, and both made $190.
The ewes topped at $160 for five offered by AMP Farms Trust, Tungkillo, they also sold another pen of two at $154.
MC&RL Willis, Brinkley, offered one ewe that made $158.
Mr Schultz said cattle prices remained firm and were slightly dearer on previous markets.
"The store cattle sold well and slaughter cattle was well-sought after," he said.
"Local processors supported the market well."
In the cattle, heifers sold to $2280 for a Murray Grey offered by Jack Andrew Maxwell, Lobethal, while CM Bond & LA Riemelmoser, Walker Flat, made $2200, on three Red Poll-Herefords.
A Geytenbeek, Cuddle Creek, sold one Poll Hereford to $2180.
Steers sold to $2420 for a Red Poll-Hereford offered by Bond & LA Riemelmoser, Walker Flat. They also sold one to $2340 and made $2260 twice for another two.
Birdwood Horseworks, Birdwood, sold two Charolais both to $2240 and CJ&RL VanDissel, Springton, sold an Angus cross to $2200 and another at $2060.
One Crossbred cow offered by Semmler Bros, Lyndoch, made $2000, and one Angus bull made $2300 offered by B Ames, Springton.
A Murray Grey cow with calf-at foot made $2000 from RE&RE Waechter, Light Pass.
