MORE than $10 million has been allocated towards projects in regional SA under round five of the Building Better Regions Fund.
Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said there were 10 projects in his electorate that had received funds, adding to the success of previous rounds.
These included a tourism project for Coffin Bay, a tourism plan for Yorke Peninsula, an economic development and investment attraction strategy for Port Lincoln and improvements to the boarding facility for Cleve Area School.
Other projects were an upgrade to the Clare Sports Precint and Balaklava Pool, life saving support for Roxby Downs and for the Kati-Thandi Lake Eyre Water Event Response Plan, assistance for the Marion Bay playground and upgrades for the Parham Short-Stay facility.
Mr Ramsey said the Coffin Bay Tourism Growth project would use the $600,000 it received towards the construction of a new jetty.
"I am so pleased to announce these projects which communities have invested so much time and effort into bringing to fruition," he said.
"The Coffin Bay Tourism Growth project will receive almost $601k toward an estimated $860k demolishing the existing jetty at the Yacht Club and constructing a fit for purpose accessible jetty and floating pontoon.
"This will be great for the town and for tourists who enjoy this already very popular tourist destination.
"It has so much to offer, a beautiful bay, great fishing, skiing, diving locations and of course now we have the delights of oyster industry on display and for sale in the precinct."
Coffin Bay Yacht Club Commodore Chris Stenson along with Vice Commodore Kalo Sunset welcomed the funding and said it will directly fund 70 per cent of the project.
"We are extremely excited," Mr Sunset said.
"This grant along with significant contributions from the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula, Bendigo Bank Cummins Branch, private philanthropic donations and funds directly from the club, will now complete the target funding for this project.
"The new facility is set to be the region's nautical tourism hub, it will be the first of its kind in the Coffin Bay and will be able to accommodate up to 20 vessels.
"It will provide a significant benefit to recreational boating, commercial tourism and yacht club operations."
The Port Lincoln Economic Development and Investment Attraction Strategy will receive $20,000 to deliver an economic plan to enhance tourism and visitor experiences in the city.
"While already a major tourist destination, including to international travellers, we cannot afford to rest on our laurels for the sake of all of SA we need to keep developing, refining and expanding the product on offer in the city and its vicinity," Mr Ramsey said.
"Making the most of every opportunity and creating jobs and investment is vital and this project will help enable this to happen."
The Parham Short-Stay Facility will receive $100,000 to upgrade and revitalise facilities at the Port Parham free campground.
"I am so pleased to announce these projects which communities have invested so much time and effort into bringing to fruition," Mr Ramsey said.
"The Port Parham Short-Stay Facility Upgrade will receive $100,000 which is half of the required finance to upgrade and revitalise facilities at the Port Parham free campground," he said.

"Port Parham is wonderful small coastal community that far too many people drive past without appreciating what is there. Offering free camping is certainly an attraction to many on the road in increasingly self-contained caravans and motor homes.
"Upgrading the camp site and these facilities will bring more people to Port Parham, add to the economy and provide its attraction as a free camping ground."
Mr Ramsey said previous rounds of BBRF investment in regional communities had delivered better facilities and economic opportunities across Grey.
"BBRF has help fund the Bratten Bridge upgrade in Tumby Bay, the Clare aerodrome, the Remarkable Southern Flinders project, the Cowell Foreshore development, a sewerage system in Peterborough and many other excellent projects developments across Grey," he said.
"We are backing these projects so local people have the facilities for the future, while creating jobs to boost our economic recovery."
Under Round 5 of the BBRF, the government has committed almost $300 million to support 295 projects across regional Australia, which will create an estimated 9900 jobs during the project period.
