DOHNE rams sold to $3600 at the Glen Holme stud in Manoora on Thursday last week.
The Kelly family offered up 108 rams, with 69 selling at an average of $1423 - a slight decrease on the 2020 sale.
Darren O'Brien, O'Brien stud, Kyancutta, returned to again buy the top price ram, attracted to lot 8's "very good nourishment" in its 17.2-micron fleece and its structure.
The 93.2-kilogram April 2020-drop twin ram, by AJK174098, was in the top 10 per cent for yearling fibre diametre at -0.95, and was also in the top 20pc for yearling weight (6.88), yearling clean fleece weight (12.62) and Dohne Plus index (168.66).
Glen Holme principal Allen Kelly said it was "tough going", with the season having an impact and more sheep on offer, but was happy to see a few new and return faces among the regular buyers.
"We were also happy to see other regular clients that couldn't make it bidding online," he said.
"We have been focusing on getting credible evaluations, with four sires currently in trials, and we are watching those trials with great interest."
Seven rams sold online to $2200, averaging $1429.
